Finding Freedom | Giving Life
During our Freedom Life Groups fall semester, IGNITE STUDENTS HUB will be at the church every Sunday from 6PM – 8PM. Pastor Steve will lead the Group with students from middle school to college age to study the Bible and discuss issues that matter most to students. It is an incredible time of empowerment and direction. Pizza and drinks provided. Sign up for the Group below.
Here are the notes for the current STUDENTS HUB study group.
Let’s kick things off with some fun questions to get everyone talking:
If you could have dinner with any Bible character (besides Jesus), who would you choose and why?
Which Bible story would make the best action movie or TV series?
If you could witness any miracle in the Bible firsthand, which one would you want to see?
What Bible character do you think would have the funniest TikTok account if they were alive today?
If you could instantly have the wisdom of Solomon, the courage of David, or the faith of Abraham, which would you pick and why?
Identity & Faith
Genesis 1:27 – Since we’re made in the image of God, how should that shape the way we see ourselves and treat other people?
Jeremiah 29:11 – How do you balance trusting God’s plan for your future while still making your own choices about school, friends, or career?
Relationships & Community
John 13:34–35 – Jesus said, “Love one another as I have loved you.” What would that look like in your friendships, especially when it’s hard to love someone?
Ephesians 4:29 – Why do words matter so much, and how can you use your words to build others up instead of tearing them down?
Challenges & Temptations
1 Corinthians 10:13 – What are some temptations teens face today, and how can God help us overcome them?
James 1:2–4 – How can you find joy in hard times, and how do challenges actually help your faith grow?
Faith in Action
Micah 6:8 – What does it really mean to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly in today’s world?
Matthew 5:14–16 – Jesus calls you the “light of the world.” What are some practical ways you can shine your light at school, in sports, or even online?
Big Questions
Romans 12:2 – Where do you feel pressure to “fit in” with the world, and how can you stay true to God’s way of thinking?
Mark 8:34–35 – Jesus said we must “deny ourselves and take up our cross.” What does that mean for you as a teenager right now?
Think about one takeaway from today’s discussion. What’s something you want to live out this week?
End by praying together, asking God to help you live out what you’ve talked about.
